Extraordinary Community Service (Students and Student Organizations)

Recipients go above and beyond their typical responsibilities, contributing through volunteering, service projects, and other impactful initiatives in the broader community.

To nominate a student or organization, please complete the nomination form by January 20th, 2025. A selection committee of students and staff will review all submissions. For more information, contact torchbearerawards@utk.edu.

Nomination Process

To nominate an individual or organization for an award category, please submit the following:

  • Nominee information;
  • A letter of nomination considering the following questions:
  1. How has this student or student organization significantly demonstrated a commitment to serving others?
  2. How has this student or student organization created a positive impact through service?
  • Nominee resume (student nominations);
  • Nominee photograph or image of organizational membership (for publication purposes only, will not be shared or used in award deliberation); and
